Recognition

This year the Agile Leadership Network is pleased to announce a new program to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the Agile Leadership Network furthering its mission, objectives and programs, while exemplifying the principles and values of agile leadership. Our intent is to recognize those individuals within the Agile Leadership Network organization or in our broader community that make significant contributions of their time, talent, and energy to further the Agile Leadership Network.  Following our agile values, this program will continue to evolve based on the input and feedback of our leaders and members. If you have suggestions for the program, or would like to recommend future recipients please contact us at info@ AgileLeadershipNetwork.org.

Our inaugural recipients of the Outstanding Service award were recognized in a luncheon ceremony at the Agile 2011 conference in Salt Lake City on August 11, 2011.

Jim Highsmith
Jim is a founder of the Agile Leadership Network (then the Agile Project Leadership Network) and an author of the Declaration of Interdepence, which serves as our statement of values. He served as our first president in 2005, and served on the board of directors through December of 2007. Answering the call of the organization in the summer of 2009, Jim returned to the organization to serve once again as President, and is still serving on the board of directors today. With Jim's leadership, the organization has renewed and evolved its purpose and mission, leading to our recent name change. In addition Jim saw a need to gain the perspective of agile executive practitioners working toward the goal of enterprise agility and established the Executive Advisory Council for that purpose. Sacrificing many personal hours, Jim also ably represented the Agile Leadership Network serving as the Co-Chair for the 2011 Agile Executive Forum working not only to create a very successful world-class forum for agile executives, but also helping to establish a first-time collaboration between Agile Leadership Network and the Agile Alliance.

Todd Little
Todd is a founder of the Agile Leadership Network (then the Agile Project Leadership Network) and an author of the Declaration of Interdependence, which serves as our statement of values.  He served two terms as President in 2006 and 2007, and continuously served on the board of directors through July of 2011.  To date he is the only president to serve two consecutive terms.  In recent years Todd has steadfastly served as a compass for our organization helping ensure that we stayed on course and offering his guidance to keep us true to our goals and mission. He has remained dedicated to the organization through both good times and not so good times to help the organization, its board, and its members grow toward the promise of agile leadership. In addition to his service at the national level, he has also provided his support and council to the local chapter in Houston since its inception in 2008 contributing in no small way to its success.

Pollyanna Pixton
Pollyanna is a founder of the Agile Leadership Network (then the Agile Project Leadership Network) and an author of the Declaration of Interdependence, which serves as our statement of values. She served as Vice President from 2006 through 2009, and continuously served on the board of directors through July of 2011. Those who know Pollyanna know that she is a strong advocate for the principles and values of agile leadership.  Our organization has been fortunate to benefit from her deeply held passions toward advancing this cause. We also owe Pollyanna a debt of gratitude for helping establish a successful series of Agile Leadership Summits, currently held in conjunction with two Software Quality Engineering conferences. Based on this model of success, we will continue to evolve and expand these events to help increase the awareness and practice of agile leadership.
